Note to self: take precautions should it become necessary to relocate the laboratory.
So far, this place has proven to be quite convenient. It’s well concealed and connects to the surface in more than one way. The sole drawback is the constant need for lamps to illuminate the space, but I suppose that is the price of secrecy.
So why move it?
Well, the noisy crone next door appears to be growing suspicious of my undertakings. I should prepare an escape plan just in case the situation worsens.
For now, I have hidden my notes and barred the basement entrance with a stout bookshelf. Even if simple-minded folk were to catch me in the act, they should find my work beyond their reach.
