Settings

Every option the game's menu holds. 76 of them across 7 tabs, each with the line the game prints underneath it.

What the list settles

  • No HDR. The menu ships no HDR option on any tab. Brightness is a single Gamma slider on the Display tab.
  • Four upscalers. DLSS, FSR, TSR, XeSS, plus DLSS and FSR frame generation, which the game labels experimental. Which ones appear depends on your hardware.
  • No field-of-view slider and no ultrawide option. The Display tab sets resolution, display mode, VSync and a frame rate limit, and nothing else about the frame.
  • Three colourblind modes with a strength slider. Deuteranope, Protanope, Tritanope.
  • Two difficulty sliders, not one. RPG Difficulty sets enemy health, enemy damage and Coen's stamina. Action Difficulty sets attack speed and how hard a perfect block is. A preset moves both, and the two can be set apart from each other. Note what the game says Duelist does: enemies get less health, not more, and the directional indicator is switched off. See the four presets.
  • 15 text languages. Čeština, Deutsch, English, Español, Español-Latinoamérica, Français, Italiano, Magyar, Polski, Português-Brasil, Türkçe, 한국어, 日本語, 简体中文, 繁體中文.

VSync

Eliminate screen tearing by matching the game’s frame rate with your monitor’s refresh rate.

Video

Grouped in game under Frame Generation, Post-processing, Quality and Upscaling.

OptionWhat it does
Bloom

Adjust the glow around bright light sources. Higher settings create a stronger effect. Disabling this option will also remove lens flares.

Chromatic Aberration

Add subtle colour fringing near screen edges to mimic real camera lenses.

Depth of Field

Simulate camera-style focus by blurring distant or out-of-focus objects.

Detail Quality

Adjust the level of fine details. On lower settings fog details, foliage, amount of destructible objects, amount of environmental visual effects, finer details of scenes, and simulation effects will be greatly reduced or removed.

Effects Quality

Adjust the detail of particle and post-processing effects. Higher levels increase visual flair but raise GPU workload.

Foliage Quality

Adjust the density and detail of vegetation. Higher settings improve scene richness but raise CPU and GPU workload.

Frame Generation

[EXPERIMENTAL] Frame Generation uses artificial intelligence to increase the number of frames displayed per second by rendering additional frames.

DLSS: Frame Generation is supported by GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards (and newer).

FSR: Before enabling FSR Frame Generation, make sure the game is running at a minimum of 60 FPS. This will provide the highest level of responsiveness and the best visual quality.

Lens Flares

Simulate light streaks and artefacts when looking toward bright sources.

Light Quality

Adjust lighting detail and effects. Higher settings improve realism but increase GPU workload.

Motion Blur

Toggle motion blur in-game and during cutscenes.

Post-Processing Quality

Adjust the quality of post-processing effects such as bloom, depth of field, motion blur, and colour grading. Higher settings enhance the final image but increase GPU load.

Quality Preset

Select an overall graphics quality preset. Higher settings improve visuals but lower performance; lower settings boost frame rate at the cost of fidelity.

Reflections Quality

Adjust the quality of reflections. Higher settings improve realism but increase GPU workload.

Rendering Mode

Select a rendering mode that prioritises either graphical fidelity or higher framerate.

Quality – Offers the highest image quality and visual effects. Dynamic 4K, targeting 30 FPS. Balanced – Balances visual fidelity and performance. Dynamic 4K, targeting 40 FPS. Performance – Prioritises high framerate over image quality. Dynamic 4K, targeting 60 FPS.

Shading Quality

Adjust the detail of shadows and lighting.

Shadow Quality

Adjust shadow resolution and accuracy. Higher settings look cleaner but come at a performance cost.

Texture Quality

Adjust texture resolution. Higher settings bring out fine detail but require more VRAM; lower settings load lower resolution textures and miss some details but take less VRAM.

Upscaling Mode

Adjust the internal rendering resolution used for upscaling. Quality modes offer better image clarity, while performance modes prioritise higher frame rate.

Upscaling Technology

Select the image upscaling method. Upscaling may significantly improve performance. Availability depends on your hardware.

None: renders at native resolution without upscaling. DLSS: uses NVIDIA DLSS with supported graphics cards. FSR: uses AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution. XeSS: uses Intel XeSS with supported GPUs.

Volumetric Quality

Adjust the resolution and complexity of fog, clouds, and other volumetric effects. Higher settings enhance visual quality, but may reduce performance.
