I must request a reconaissance detatchment. While I understand that the castle’s security is of the utmost priority, certain developments along the border demand our attention.
First, we observed firelight flickering beyond the eastern ridge – steady and deliberate, far from any known shepherding grounds.
Second, several hunting paths near the border show signs of recent, heavy passage – too much to dismiss.
Lastly, we’ve received no couriers this week – neither carrier pigeons nor runners.
None of these alone would merit alarm, but taken together, they suggest movement – organised and close. Hence my request.
