Peasants, being as they are limited in their thinking and incapable of reflection, oftentimes forget their God-ordained place and dare to question the order imposed by their Father above, praised be His name. On such occasions, they need to be reminded, in no uncertain terms, where they belong, and punished to the full extent of the law.
Skender Dragosti, the wise and benevolent ruler of Vale Sangora, took these teachings to heart. When the peasant uprising broke out in his fiefdom, he met it with the steely determination his esteemed family is known for. Once caught, insurgents were flayed, quartered, and burned, and the same fate awaited their families. Their screams echoed over the whole valley – a stark warning to anyone harbouring thoughts of joining the rebel cause.
Soon, the unruly yokels were cornered in an old quarry known as Shrike’s Crag. Seeing that their cause was doomed, they begged the triumphant knyaz for mercy. But Skender Dragosti, knowing full well that such an act of undeserved kindness would only encourage future rebellions, proceeded to exterminate the peasants like the vermin they were. From then on, Vale Sangora has enjoyed uninterrupted peace and prosperity, an evident sign of divine approval, and the common folk have shown Knyaz Skender nothing but the deepest respect.
