This is a story of a noble knight who went by the name of Basarab. His heart was pure and his soul devoted.
On one sun-filled day, he saw a most wondrous lady on a mansion balcony. She wore a dress blue as the sky and her eyes were of the same colour. Basarab’s heart fluttered and he understood that she was the one he ought to pick as his lady, and so he vowed to always defend her honour and fight in her name.
For years, the dutiful knight did as he'd sworn, suffering the ache of loving the noble lady married to another in silence, and basking in the warmth of her eyes whenever she threw Basarab a graceful glance.
But one day, a tragedy struck – by misfortune, Basarab and the lady met in the hallway of the mansion, and the lady smiled at him and expressed to him her appreciation for his service in her honour.
And Basarab's noble heart shattered into pieces as he realised that his lady was not as virtuous as he had believed.
