Time Runs Out

Not a game over. The sacrifice happens, and the game keeps going into the ending that follows from it.

This is the ending most players assume is a fail state, and it is not. The thirty days elapsing does not throw you back to a save. Brencis's investiture proceeds, Coen's family is sacrificed, and the story resolves from there.

It matters because it changes how you should read the clock. The month is not a timer you are racing to beat before the game punishes you. It is a budget, and running it out is one of the seven things that can happen.

How to reach it
