The Fable of the Tortoise and the Fox, part 1

Part 1 of the Second Skin II manual.

The Fox was growing hungry. Most of the creatures in the forest were aware of his nature, so no matter how cunning he was in trying to trick them into becoming his next meal, they saw through the charade and avoided his traps. Now, he could feel his stomach tying into knots, demanding its due with a loud growling. He was getting desperate. And then – a miracle. For he saw the Tortoise slowly ambling through the forest. Their paths had never crossed before. What’s more, the Tortoise was known for his lonely ways, so there was a high chance that no other creature had warned him against the Fox. The Fox grinned and said to himself: ‘Today I shall feast!’ Little did he know that the Tortoise, though slow and clumsy in his gait, would prove a formidable enemy.
