My dearest vermin,
News has reached me that guardians of distilleries partake in the alcohol that we brew – while on duty! An understandable urge, for sure – nothing like a swig of slivovitz to improve the mood! Sadly, inebriation has a negative effect on your battle readiness, and so cannot be allowed. Remember: the alcohol is for the peasants, to keep them merry and docile, not for you!
Any soldier of mine who fails to obey this warning shall have his thirst satisfied forever. He shall be stripped, lashed and then submerged in the distillery vats until he can breathe no more.
