Saint Mihai was once a pagan warrior, fierce in his battles against the Devil’s spawn. Guided by Providence, he was brought to the true Faith through the counsel of the monk Tobias. In the swamps of Maragir he met his end, slaying a monstrous foe at the cost of his own life. Tobias carried his body back to Svartrau, where the people mourned and gave him honour. Thus Mihai was anointed and became the patron of Svartrau Cathedral.
