Yokel Utopia

Peasants, as is widely known, are as naive as little children and will believe in the most absurd tales. One such tale is of a supposed land of plenty, where sausages grow on trees, roasted geese fall from the skies, and wells brim with the sweetest milk. The innocent yokels will swear upon the graves of their wretched forebears that this place is real – and though they have not seen it for themselves, they know someone who knows someone who has. In some parts of the world, this neverland is called Cockaigne or Cloud Cuckoo Land. The people of Vale Sangora, however, know it as the Eternal Pass – supposedly, a land of endless spring and merriment. And though I offered a handsome sum to whoever could lead me there, none took me up on this proposal – as was only to be expected.
