The Knights Templar were once a force to be reckoned with. Tasked with protecting pilgrims in the Holy Land, they became a symbol of bravery and devotion. With every passing year, they grew stronger, wealthier and more prominent.
But today, they're gone. Their Order has been dissolved, their Grand Master burned alive, cursing the Pope right before the flames and smoke took him, the story goes.
So how did this happen? What crime could they have committed that would condemn them to such a fate? If we're to believe the French king and the Pope, the knights were heretics, secretly worshiping Baphomet and a spider-headed woman called Sheema. And though it may sound like a convenient excuse to seize the Templars's staggering riches, what if it wasn't? Should the king and the Pope now fear the old gods’ retribution?
