After my time training with master Giaccomo, I needed someone who could help me improve further. I’ve heard about Lorenzo Fiore, a renowned fencer from Padua and decided to try my luck with him. Unlike my previous tutor, master Fiore turned out to be a jovial man who was happy to take me in as soon as he established that I'm sufficiently skilled with the blade.
Even though his training methods were not as brutal as Giaccomo’s, the practice was still arduous. Our main focus was the art of riposte, which entailed blocking or dodging one’s opponent's strike and immediately answering with your own attack. Lorenzo Fiore had his own special technique, which he promised to teach me in due time.
