As for the rebels, those manumits – I don’t think they’re a real problem. Just a bunch of rabble-rousers and petty criminals with too much time on their hands. My solution: catch a few and execute them in full public view. Then some of the more hot-headed folk will think twice about rising against the Knyaz.
And please, don’t talk to me about this ‘Crake’ fellow. He’s not real. Just a folk tale, conjured up by the peasants to make it sound like there’s something more behind their antics.
