Parable of the Wolf and the Shrew, part 2

So the little Shrew asked, ‘How much blood would you like, o mighty Wolf?’ And the Wolf said: ‘Give me ten drops.’ And the Shrew did as he'd asked… But each time she called upon the Wolf, the drops were smaller and smaller – though always ten in number. With time, the Wolf grew suspicious. ‘My friend, I am starting to think you are trying to trick me.’ The little Shrew shivered… But did not despair.
