You might have heard about the almshouse in Svartrau Cathedral – people say that it’s a safe haven, a place where those in need can find lodgings and survive the winter.
It’s a lie! The almshouse is not safe – in fact, it’s haunted by some evil. Each night, one hears blood-curdling noises – something moving in the dark, screeching, breathing heavily. And then, when the sun rises, there’s an empty bed, ready for another desperate wretch.
So I beseech you: do not go there, do not even come near! Better to go hungry and cold than lose your soul to evil.
