To the Captain of the Svartrau Guard,
Two villagers were found slain south of Parlita, upon the banks of the Lupila. Their bodies were so mangled we could scarce tell they were our folk – only a family heirloom gave us a sure name. In the last weeks, several inhabitants of Parlita have gone missing, their remains never recovered.
The people now dread the river. No one dares fish or gather by the bank. If this terror endures, some among us will surely starve.
Therefore, I beseech you: send your men to scour the Lupila’s banks and put whatever preys upon our folk to the sword. Spare not men nor time!
