To the new lad,
Pack the sacks tight. Heaviest at the bottom, lightest on top, and lash them all down with rope. Spill any charcoal and it goes out of your wages – no excuses.
Stay close to camp and tend the fire. The woods may seem quiet by day, but strange things roam these parts after dark. Wander around at your own peril. If you’re late with the delivery, I’ll come for the charcoal myself, but I won’t waste time looking for you.
