Day 17
This might be the last page I ever scribble on in my life.
I don’t think we can hold this tower, and there is nowhere else left to fall back to. The valley is closed, the mountains are a certain death this time of year, and our supplies are pretty much gone.
Verek still tries to keep up the morale. He talks about us being on the higher ground one day, then about the vrakhiri forgetting all about us the next. But it’s all pleasant lies and empty hopes.
Still, I suppose I’ll keep my thoughts to these silent pages. It’s better our lads die thinking they’re fighting for a better tomorrow.
