I have no doubt that I've found what I’ve been looking for. Admittedly, when it comes to its looks, the plant is nothing like the legends say. It looks much more… it’s hard to describe… more predatory. If a plant can even look like that?
But everything else matches the descriptions. I made three attempts. First, I followed a snake and it led me to the plant. I then noted its location and tried to find it by myself – and I wasn’t able to. I then made a third attempt – this time with a young hedgehog, which also found the plant. This needs no further explanation. Everything confirms that this is indeed the mythical razkovniche.

It turned out that the razkovniche was dying. I don’t know what it was in such need of – it had plenty of sunlight, the soil was rich and wet. And yet, it was beyond saving. All I was able to retrieve was a single seed.

The plant I was able to grow does not open any doors – I checked it so many times that I’m now sure of it. So this part is not true. I’m beginning to wonder… maybe it isn’t razkovniche after all? I still need to check two other legends – the one about turning iron into gold and the one about it being a remedy for all illness. Especially the latter one could prove useful, considering the rumours about the plague.
