Farewell Letter

A farewell and a confession.

Mari,

Tomorrow they will execute me. They said it’s not worth wasting a rope on me – there’s a cliff nearby, pushing me off it should do the job. I’m guilty of the crimes they accused me of, there’s no denying it. After losing you, I also lost my way – and found myself in more and more trouble. When the vrakhiri soldiers finally caught me, I must admit I was relieved.

Relieved, because I still hope that despite my many sins, we’ll be able to meet once more, in Heaven. I know you’ve been waiting there for some time now, but maybe you can wait for your old man just a little bit longer.

Your Papa
