Just as sunflowers follow the movement of the sun, so novices shall follow the tolling of the bell. Learn the language it speaks, and you shall never be at a loss. May its calls become as familiar to you as your very thoughts.
When the bell tolls three times: go to the chapel, for it is time to pray and sing the Lord's praise
When the bell tolls four times: go to the infirmary, for the sick need your care and tending
When the bell tolls five times: go to your dormitories, for it is time to rest your sinful bodies
Remember, you are here to serve God, and he speaks unto you through your prioress, and she speaks unto you through the bell. And so, obey its signals always, day or night, rain or shine.
