What lies beyond, we do not know and we shall never know.
The truth, in its enormity and complexity, is too much for the human mind to comprehend, and to think otherwise is to sin of arrogance.
This is why we kneel, this is why we bow: to turn our eyes away from the Heavens, which are not to be pierced by our gaze. And lo, we are blessed, for otherwise we would see It in all its unholy glory.
And what is It, you may ask, of which the vrakhiri preach and warn us? Everything we fear, everything we abhor. The shiver in the spine, the waking nightmare in the dead of night, the shriek of panic rising in your throat.
And so, obey our immortal knyaz, for he alone may guide you into the Afterlife and protect you from Its malevolent intent.
We are but sheep, and sheep do not question their shepherd. Remember: the unruly ram will be gelded, the lost lamb devoured by wolves.
