A man can try to be reasonable, but the people in this city… well, they don't give you much choice.
There was this merchant, selling spices or some other rubbish. He was doing quite well so he decided to grow his business. He lacked the funds, so he came to me and took out a loan. ‘I'll pay you back within a month.’ the merchant said. ‘Business is great, won't be a problem!’.
Three months have passed and the only thing I get are excuses. So when he came to see me again, I decided I needed something from him. Some… collateral. I introduced him to my lovely cleaver. I took two fingers, one for each month of delay.
The man’s exclusively left-handed now. But I got my money back and then some. Goes to show that patience is a virtue, but it’s not smart to test mine.
