The Beast of Balaur

The mountains surrounding Parlita are known to be dangerous, some even say they're haunted. People have kept disappearing there over the years, and almost everyone knows someone who went there and never returned.

Objectives

  1. 1

    Find Iancu

The most recent missing person is a man named Iancu. His friend, Ciprian, told me that Iancu went to the Balaur – an ill-famed peak near Parlita – to check if the rumours about it were true.

  2. 2

    Go back to Ciprian

I was asked to look for a man named Iancu who went missing in the mountains near Parlita. I found his body. There's nothing more I can do for him, besides going back to see his friend Ciprian and letting him know what happened.

  3. 3

Go to Parlita and ask around about the body from the cave

I may have found one of those missing people recently killed by a terrifying beast. I wonder if that man used to live in Parlita. Maybe his family would like to know what happened.

  4. 4

    Find Iancu

One of such people is a man named Iancu. He may still be somewhere in the mountains, in need of help. But if I find him... how will I tell him that I drained his friend?

  5. 5

    Investigate the mountain

This place is, in fact, eerie. I wonder why... Should I climb higher and risk finding out?

  6. 6

    Explore the cave

I stumbled upon a cave. It looks like something lives there. Is it just an animal... or something else?

  7. 7

    Follow the tracks

I noticed footprints, quite fresh. Someone walked this secluded path – and not long ago.

The journal's own order. It is the order the game hands them to you, which is not always the order you can do them in.

How it can end · 4

The journal records 4 ways this quest can finish. Each one is written after the fact, so each one gives away what you did.

What you get

XP in 6 awards: 250, 75, 25, 75, 75, 75

The game pays these out separately. Some quests award them one after another, and some award one instead of another, so they are shown as the game stores them rather than added together.

What you read along the way

The game files these under this quest's own code. Where that code covers several journal entries, a document listed here may belong to one of the others in the thread below.
