Howling Keep

Xanthe's manor in the Tantari Woods, which opens only to an invitation.

The lady of the keep is an ominous woman clad in black, forever in mourning, and she can hide her mansion and then unveil it at will. Anyone who means her harm is said never to find the path to the gates. Lost travelers and runaway children arrive at the door without ever looking for it.

That gate is literal in play. Coen cannot walk into the boyaress's estate uninvited, so the entrance stays shut until he carries one of Xanthe's Lanterns and gives it to the statue outside.
