Uriash clans are led by powerful, magic-wielding women. And having met one, I can see where their reputation comes from. Bakr-Erga, the leader of clan Bakr, is a commanding presence. Could her spells make you sweat blood and drop your weapon? I don't know, but I bet a piercing glance from her would do the job just fine.
